Group Show : Chasing Paper
I was selected to participate in a group show called Chasing Paper at the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts. The show was at the Lakewood Center for the Arts in Lake Oswego, Oregon, from June 24 to 26, 2016. The piece from the show, the Indigo Datura Necklace is for sale here.
Here's the description from their website:
From traditional techniques such as origami and quilling to cutting edge creations of sculpted books to larger-than-life forests, paper artists of today allude to the roots of paper-making from papyrus. The exhibit seeks to explore the unconventional use of this commonplace material in producing extraordinary art through its manipulation.
The Special Exhibit’s goal is to truly push the expected boundaries by selecting works that take advantage of the basic properties of paper yet project a sense of beauty, whimsy, and ingenuity.
The theme for this year’s Special Exhibit is Chasing Paper––a celebration of the pursuit of artistic expression and creativity through the properties of paper. At once familiar and mysterious, simple and complex, fragile and strong, paper is made and manipulated into surprising and delightful creations in the chase to stretch the boundaries of paper as an art form.
